What Voters Should Know

Photos

Beginning immediately, prime voters in Harlan, Eastlawn, Southeast 9th Ward, Riverside, Eastside, West Center City, Hilltop, Quaker Hill, Trinity Vicinity, Southbridge, Browntown, and Greenhill who’ve voted in at least 2 of the last 3 recent primaries need to see in their mailboxes that Governor John Carney is an experienced leader with a proven track record of delivering for the people of Wilmington as well as his endorsements and vision for the City of Wilmington. These same voters must also see how supportive Governor Carney has been of Vice President Kamala Harris and how proud he was to cast his delegate ballot for her to be the first Black Woman nominated for President by the Democratic Party in History.

Carney is endorsed by:

  • Former State Senator Margaret Rose Henry.
John Carney’s leadership style is one of collaboration and consensus-building. He listens to the voices of our community, values diverse perspectives, and works tirelessly to find solutions that benefit everyone. His compassionate and thoughtful approach to governance is exactly what our city needs at this critical time. Please join me in supporting Governor John Carney for Mayor. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for our city and for generations to come.
  • Delaware State Senator Darius Brown (photo linked)
As Governor, John Carney never forgot about the City of Wilmington. Over the last eight years, he has directed millions into Wilmington schools, into community centers, and neighborhoods across our largest city. He knows that for Delaware to succeed, Wilmington needs to be strong.

John Carney never brags about what he does – but he has made a real difference in our city. I’m proud to call the Governor a friend and support his candidacy to be our next Mayor.
  • Jea Street, New Castle County Councilman and longtime community advocate
I’ve known and worked with John Carney for a long time. During his time as Governor, he has fought relentlessly to improve schools for children in Wilmington. He fully funded the first new Wilmington school in decades, and directed more state resources to students who need our help the most. We have called for action on those issues for years, and it was John Carney who delivered. The bottom line is Governor Carney is not afraid to take on tough issues and stand up for what’s right. He’ll be a Mayor who gets results for families in the City of Wilmington.

As Governor, John delivered for the City of Wilmington. As Mayor, John will continue his work from his time as Governor and:

  • Improve public education in city schools by working with state officials, school districts, and community leaders
  • Prioritize expanding affordable housing in Wilmington
  • Make sure the city has a strong, sustainable budget and protect taxpayer dollars
  • Invest in small and minority-owned businesses across the city

Voters in Harlan, Eastlawn, Southeast 9th Ward, Riverside, Eastside, West Center City, Hilltop, Quaker Hill, Trinity Vicinity, Southbridge, Browntown, and Greenhill should see at least four pieces of information in their homes before the September primary election. If there is room to send more, six pieces of information is an option as well as expanding communication to all prime voters.
